Hyuga Clan
Name: Byakugan
The Hyuga Clan
The Hyuga clan is one of the oldest and most powerful clans in Konohagakure. All Hyuga clan members are born with the Byakugan, the inherited Kekkei Genkai of the clan. The clan revolves around the Byakugan and is separated into two parts, the main house (宗家, Sōke) and the branch house (分家, Bunke), a system that protects the secrets of the Byakugan from outsiders. The main house runs the family while the branch house protects it. The members of the branch house are branded with a cursed seal. This seal gives the main house members absolute control over the branch members, because they can destroy the branch members' brains with a simple hand gesture, or cause them great pain to punish them. This seal also makes sure the secret of the Hyuga's Byakugan is safe, because it seals the Byakugan after the wearer of the seal dies. There seems to be a great deal of bad blood between members of the main and branch houses, most likely due to the fact that no matter how powerful branch members become, they exist solely to protect the Hyuga secrets. This can be seen in the attitudes of Hizashi, who is angry about this restriction on his son, and Neji, who believed for years that his father was forced to die to protect the main house.
Members of the clan are instructed in the use of the Gentle Fist style, which uses the Byakugan to view the opponent's chakra circulatory system and deal precise blows to disable and impede the flow of chakra. Due to training in this style, Hyuga clan members tend to have excellent chakra control. This is emphasized in jutsu that utilize this chakra control, as well as the nuances of the Gentle Fist style. The clan's strongest techniques, Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms and Eight Trigrams Palms Heavenly Spin, are only allowed to be taught to members of the main house. Neji Hyuga however, has bypassed this restriction by learning them on his own, earning a reputation as a "genius" in the clan.
Byakugan
The Byakugan, as stated above, is the primary focus of the Hyuga's special arts. After awakening the Byakugan, which is denoted by tensed veins originating from the upper cheek to the temple leading to the user's eyes, the Byakugan allows for the user to see with near 360º vision, meaning that they can literally see everything around them, except for one blind spot above the spine and under the head which differs from user to user. They also have the ability to see through solid objects, and can use a degree of telescopic sight. The distance and the degree of telescopic sight varies from person to person. In Part I, Neji Hyuga was able to see an area of 50 meters, but later he increases his visual range to 1000 meters. During the hunt for either of the Uchiha brothers, Hinata was shown to be able to view Amaterasu's flames and the chakra in the area from ten kilometers away.
However, one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see the chakra circulation system inside of another's body. It is from this paticular ability that they are able to employ their ultimate attack style: Gentle Fist or Jyūken. Much in contrast with typical Taijutsu style of goken, or ferocious fist, which is focused on being insanely fast and strong, the Gentle Fist style focuses on being quick and precise, not focusing on damage. Each strike, when placed correctly, strikes along the keirakurei, which is the network of vessels that carry chakra. This network is closely intertwined with the functioning of the body's organs, and so when the keirakurei take damage, the organs suffer as well. The Byakugan is the dojutsu most suited to the Jyūken style, since its vision can penetrate the body. There is no defense against the gentle fist, since one cannot train one's internal organs to become stronger. The only possible defense is to stop the Gentle fists hits from connecting.
Particularly skilled users of the Byakugan, which appear only rarely, such as Neji Hyuga, can take the Jyūken attacks one step further. Along the keirakurei are 361 pinprick-sized nodes called Tenketsu, or chakra points. When struck, these tenketsu will seal off, which close the opening points from which chakra is emitted. The Chunin exam fight between Neji and Hinata is an example. Thus, with precision, all those points along the victim's body can be sealed, stopping the chakra flow to those areas. Most of the Hyuga clan cannot even perform this because the Tenketsu are too small to see. Neji Hyuga is the rare exception, having taught himself the ultimate Hyuga technique, Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms. Able to strike without force, and yet do more damage to a ninja than some of the most powerful Ninjutsu, the Gentle Fist is the greatest Taijutsu style known in all of Konoha. Neji Hyuga knows a more powerful technique Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms. And as to even further surpass that which is feared, Neji has also perfected the total surmise of it's prior technique known as the Eight Trigrams Three-Hundred-Sixty-One Style.

Jutsu
- Spoiler:
- Juuken
Type: Taijutsu
Sub-Type: Juuken
Rank: D
The Gentle Fist style of combat aims to damage the body's chakra circulatory system, thus inhibiting an opponent's use of chakra. To do this, the user will forcefully insert a small amount of their own chakra into an opponent's chakra circulatory system, causing the targeted area to rupture or divert flow. Alternatively, or as an additional effect, the same method can be used to damage the opponent's internal organs, to which the chakra circulatory system is closely tied. This will take time, however and the enemy must be hit in vital parts several times. Chakra cost for this jutsu is not counted for each hit but for each post using it.
Hakkeshou Kaiten
Type: Taijutsu
Sub-Type: Juuken
Rank: C
This jutsu utilizes the chakra control gained through Gentle Fist training to release a huge amount of chakra from the user's chakra points when struck. The released chakra blocks any possible attack. The user then spins themselves rapidly to parry the attack, both creating a shield of chakra around themselves and tossing away any would-be attackers. The spin also sllows the user to defend the blindspot in their Byakugan.
Hakke Kuushou
Type: Taijutsu
Sub Type: Juuken
Rank: C
This Technique is utilized by expelling chakra from the user's hand. They will thrust forward at an enemy and release an invisible wave of chakra, which will send an enemy,or enemies, flying away with force.
Hakke Rokujuuyon Shou
Type: Taijutsu
Sub-Type: Juuken
Rank: C
This jutsu closes off one-hundred-twenty-six specific chakra points (tenketsu) on an opponent's body with the Gentle Fist style, effectively eliminating their ability to use chakra for quite some time and making it quite difficult for them to move. It begins with the closing of two chakra points, followed by four more, then eight, then sixteen, then thirty-two, and then sixty-four strikes. Each set of strikes is done at an increasing pace.
Hakke Hyaku Nijuuhachi Shou
Type: Taijutsu
Sub-Type: Juuken
Rank: B
This jutsu is essentially a doubled version of Hakke Rokujuuyon Shou. Like the former, it closes off the opponent's chakra points in an exponentially increasing number of quick successive strikes. Unlike the former, it closes off twice as many at twice the speed. Alternatively, it can be used to hit a great number of targets very quickly. It has a slightly different stance than the lesser form in which the upper body is slightly rotated to the right. This stance activates the characters at the edge of the divination field to begin the technique.
Shugohakke Rokujuuyon Shou
Type: Taijutsu
Sub-Type: Juuken
Rank: B
This jutsu is a combination of the Hakkeshou Kaiten and the Hakke Rokujuuyon Shou. The user emits a constant stream of chakra from her palms, creating extremely sharp chakra blades. The user can then reach any part around him, allowing him to hit hundreds of targets with extreme precision, much like the original Sixty-Four Palms jutsu. Additionally, he can control the size of the chakra beams in her palms, allowing her to create larger, arc-shaped chakra beams that spread out across her entire attack range. This creates an "absolute defence" effect similar to that of the Heavenly Spin, though the cutting nature of the chakra prevents any outside force from restricting it. In this way, the technique can be used as both an offensive and defensive maneuver.
Hakke Hasangeki
Type: Taijutsu
Sub Type: Juuken
Rank: B
This Jutsu is utilized by the Hyuuga Clan in close quarters. The user will lunge at an opponent as if using a normal strike, then release an extreme amount of chakra at once. This will create a flash of light and strike the enemy with a powerful blow, sending them crashing back. While this technique does not effect the Tenketsu, it does deal a large amount of damage to an enemy's body.
