Raito has long black hair tied into a pony tail, his face completely unblemished. His eyes are as cold and black as coal, with a long lanky figure. He wears standard ANBU armor at all times, unless specifically told otherwise. He also wears a tattered black cape, that once belonged to his father. Below his waist he wore a thin rope with a scroll attached to it. Strapped to his back, he has a longsword that looks like ~this~, with a serrated cutting side and a strong cord attached to the end of the hilt. Over his eveys, he wears a black strip of cloth, covering his eyes completely. In his gauntlets, of his ANBU uniform, there resides explosive powder.

Personality: In battle, he is a cold killing soldier, doing what ever his Raikage commands. He has the upmost respect for him and will do anything to protect him. He has no mercy for any of his enemies, but will do anything to save one of his comrades. Out of battle, he usually goes out to either patrol the Village or converse with fellow ANBU. Once in a while, however, he will go out and have a couple of drinks. He doesn't have any family, but he does have a boyfriend, Joe, who lives with him. It's a strained relationship sometimes, as Joe doesn't fully understand what it means to be a shinobi.

Special Characteristics: Raito is blind. He lost his sense of sight at a very young age, and because of it, his other senses are heighted, the most being his senses of hearing, touch, and smell. Because of his hearing, almost no one can sneak up on him. Because of his sense of smell, almost no one can escape from him. And, because of his sense of touch, his reflexes are amazing, so that if he was standing still and a kunai touched his back, he would be able to turn around without it making a single scratch.

Pet He has a pet pheonix, Faowls. He found Faowls on an extensive trip to Mountain Country. He was scouting the Heat Devil Village when he found a cave (will be explained in History). Faowls is the keeper of the Pheonix Contract, who is immortal in our world. He has three prominent abilities. One being that he can turn invisible, which is perfect for scouting, and two being that his tears have healing capabilities beyond anything imaginable. Those can cure any sickness or disease, however, it cannot stop aging, or dying because of old age. Finally, they can mentally connect, so that Faowls can be Raito's eyes.

Kenjutsu:

Sword Description: The sword is serrated, making it perfect for firction. Also, it is always soaked in oil, whenever it's not in use. This is perfect for his three techniques that involve friction and fire.

Hirazuki - Ishiki:
Description: The First Stance (Ishiki) is the standard, shoulder-level ground attack. He prepares by dropping into a partial crouch, both knees bent, left arm drawn back and right extended forward; he grasps the hilt of his sword with his left hand and rests the tips of the fingers of his right hand (usually the thumb) on the blade near its tip.

Hirazuki - Nishiki:
Description: The Second Stance (Nishiki) is a downward-striking attack. The direction of the Nishiki thrust is narrower, as well.

Hirazuki - Sanshiki:
Description: The Third Stance (Sanshiki) is an upward-striking attack. Prepared identically to the Ishiki, he uses it to intercept an opponent assaulting him from above, directing his blade into the air instead of immediately forward.

Hirazuki - Zeroshiki:
Description: Zeroshiki is an attack performed at point-blank range using all his upper body strength. This stance, unlike the first three, requires no prior preparation or footwork.

Homura Dama:
Description: This is the technique that Raito uses often. Using friction to ignite the oils that have soaked into his sword over time, his blade goes on fire, this serves to distract the opponent from his swings.

Guren Kaina:
Description: He uses his gauntlets with explosive powder, and ignites them with the sparks caused by the oils, thus it resulting in an explosion. Guren Kaina yields a lot of force and is usually performed while his opponent is at close range, preferably in his grip.

Kaguzuchi:
Description: The Kaguzuchi is one of the best techniques in Raito's sword technique arsenal. He activates it by scraping his blade from the base to the tip on the end of the scabbard, creating a miniature fiery cyclone around the blade. Raito starts the fire and then slashes at the enemy, thus he can incinerate them entirely while still cutting them.

Shugeki Tosei:
Description: Raito kicks the back edge of his blade to increase the speed and force of the strike when he swings his sword upward. The power of this sword attack is so powerful it can sever tree trunks with ease.

Kaishi Tosei:
Description: Raito blocks his opponent's attack with the hilt of his sword and spins around his enemy's defense on one foot, leaving him a complete opening in which to attack his opponent.

Shoha Tosei:
Description: Much like the Shugeki Tosei, Raito uses his palm to push the sword during a downward strike, increasing its speed and force.

Choten Tosei:
Description: A follow-up to the Shoha Tosei, where the sword has been stabbed into the ground. Raito steps on the pommel of his sword and jumps into the air, and then retrieves his sword by pulling on the cord attached at the hilt. This is followed by an upward whip-like slash at the overhead enemy.

Gotsui Tosei:
Description: Using the sword to stab his opponent, Raito then proceeds to lift him in an arc over his head and slam him into the ground. To do this, the sword and the arm must have enough power to support the opponent's weight.

Shikku Tosei:
Description: One of Raito's most visually impressive techniques. First, Raito jumps normally by holding the sword at the perfect position (generally behind his back, gathering power for the slash). When he reaches his maximum height from the ground, Raito uses the fact that his jump has exactly canceled gravity, giving him a split second to make a second jump. Thus, this makes him appear as if he is walking in the air.

Senran Tosei:
Description: An attack in which Raito ducks in a manner like a tiger's crouch, and slashes upwards by spinning around. Afterward Raito will rush towards his target with his Wato like an extension of his arm.

Regular Jutsu:

Kinobori no Waza:
Description:Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. It also teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will have any jutsu available (theoretically) because they will be able to focus their chakra as needed.

Suimen Hokou no Waza:
Description: A variation on the Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing), the art of water surface walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.

Explosion Tag: Activate:
Description: The user will activate an explosion tag. Normally, the tag will be placed by them, so they know where it is and can easily activate it.

Kawarimi no Jutsu:
Description: When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themselves with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise.

Henge no Jutsu:
Description: Allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents.

Bunshin no Jutsu:
Description: Creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the clone gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

Shunshin no Jutsu:
Description: The ninja will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement the ninja will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance.

Kage Shuriken Bushin no Jutsu:
Description: Multiplies a thrown shuriken from 10 to 1,000. They are all corporeal.

Kage Bunshin no Jutsu:
Description: Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. This makes Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added.

Kai:
Description: A jutsu that destroys/cancels out an illusionary jutsu attempted on the user. Only shinobi with strong chakra control can perform this. The user releases a large amount of chakra then quickly halts it. The genjutsu is usually dispelled after that, depending on how strong the skill is.

Bunshin Daibakuha no Jutsu:
Description: This jutsu works in combination with the Shadow Clone Technique to create a shadow clone that will explode on command. The blast created is considerable, and could potentially kill an attacker engaged in hand-to-hand combat.

Raiton Jutsu: (All are in Custom Jutsu)

Raiton Bushin:
Description: This is a clone that is created from lightning. At first the clone will look like a normal clone but if it is hit the lightning will be activated around the clone cause a destructive force.

Summoning Jutsu:

Kuchiyose no Jutsu:
Description: The basic form of all summoning techniques, this jutsu uses a contract, hand seals, and the user's blood to summon an animal or weapon from another dimension, which usually manifests once the ninja summoner strikes his hand against any surface, after which the specific summon will appear. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can be written on a scroll or tattoo, valid. Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle.


Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Pheonixs:

Enkou:
A small Pheonix that is mostly used for scouting and heavy damage. Like Faowls, he can turn invisible, but his most prized technique is something called Kousen. Opening his beak, Enkou can emit a large beam that can devastate unsuspecting adversairies. He looks like ~this~.

Boufuu:
A small Pheonix that is used during battles against a large scale of opponents. Boufuu can only be used once, and she uses an attack called Reppuu. She turns into a gale of fire that incinerates opponents. With this, he can win a battle all by himself. She looks like ~this~.

Yoroi:
A medium pheonix that is used on close range battles. A Pheonix with golden armor and sword, he has immense flexibility that allows him to fight in close range battles, even in a forest. He has a special ability called Joukei, which allows him to look into his opponents thoughts, effectively predicting his opponent's moves. He looks like ~this~.

Hishou:
A medium Pheonix that is mostly used for flight. Hishou is also employs a vast wealth of knowledge, so he his a good resource during flights to places. He looks like ~this~.

Tentei:
The Peonix Lord, Tentei is widely considered a legend in most regards. He is a very large Pheonix with blazing red armor and a golden trim, covering him from head to tow. On his side is a decorated scabbard with a reknowned sword in it, called Fenikkusu. He has the ability of flight and has four other abilities. First, he can use an ability called Binsoku, which allows him to move at supersonic speeds. Second, he can use an ability called Himei. When he screams, fire comes out and it travels into people ear's, burning the very inside of their heads. Third, his ultimate attack, he calls it Subeta. Using his sword in snyc with Raito, they can combine their strength into an ultimate attack that combines their physical and mental capabilities into a monsoon of fire that rains down from above. His last, most benevolent ability, is called Shinsei. By sacrificing his life, he can revive someone from the very depths of death. He looks like ~this~.

History and RP Sample

History:

Early History:

Raito was born into poverty, his mother and father living on the streets at the time. He was born in an alley, with his mother, Harmony, depleted of all her energy. Needless to say, she died, leaving him and his father, Higaru, alone. For seven long years, they got by on only will power, very limited visits to food kitchens, and stories told by his father of the shinobi of the village. He was born with a very unique disease, which made his eyes deterriorate at a very fast pace. By the age of three, he was blind, and for some unexplained reason, his other senses were heightened.

One story was prominent in Raito's mind, the story of their clan's contract. The Wareru Clan, now destroyed, all remnants lost, was once prominent, with one special technique reserved for only the head of the clan. It was an animal contract for phoenixs. There was a story that his grandfather was ninja and knew that he could not let the contract fall into the hands of the unworthy, so he hid them away, where only a Wareru could find and open the seal he placed upon it. Those stories fueled Raito in his childhood, and when his father died of sickness, he decided to enroll in the Academy.

When the teachers found out about his homelessness, they immediately set up an apartment for him. It was then that he found something his grandfather had put away for the next ninja in their family. It was old ninja gear and a serrated sword with a black scabbard. He learned much in the academy and practiced Kenjutsu on his own, making a few powerful techniques.

He still occasionally went to the food kitchens, because of his lack of income. It was there he met Joe, just another tattered child. Raito had decided to approach him and make friends. It worked. Soon, they were inseperable. A friendship had started and lasted for three long years. When they were 11, puberty started and hormones kicked in. A relationship started and then they were even more inseperable. Unfortunately, Joe was studying to become a blacksmith, while Raito was being educated in the Shinobi Arts. Things are strained sometimes between them, but most of the time, they were a great couple. When they were 12, Raito passed the Academy and went on to be a Genin.

Genin Arc:

Raito was placed on a three man team under the jounin named Hizashi Zakuru. Hizashi was always strict, but fair and always had this aura about his that displayed a cool and collected demeanor. His team was a lot more advanced than the others, allowing them to only complete 10 D ranked missions before going onto C ranked missions. In the end, the completed 20 D Ranked, 14 C Ranked, and 4 B Ranked Missions, as Hizashi waited for a year before applying his team to the Chunin Exams. During their Genin days, they learned a lot, from teamwork to water walking. Constantly, they sparred against each other, and teaming up against their sensei. During this time, Raito and Joe's relationship had grown. Even though Joe was still training to become a blacksmith, he was sympathetic towards Raito and he tried to understand little by little on what it means to be a shinobi. Soon, it was time to take the Chunin Exams.

The first of test of the Chunin Exam was the written test. His team went in with an aura of self confidence that could even belittle an Akatsuki's killing intent. They passed with flying colors, each having their own method of passing. For Raito, he listened to the strokes of a person writing the answers. Thankfully, that was the hidden Chunin in the Exam. They passed without a hitch. However, with the Forest of Death, things got complicated. His team had recieved the Earth Scroll, and ten minutes into the Exam they found their first opponent team. They won easily, but Raito misjudged the proportions of his opponent and accidently killed him. The opponent team was from Konoha. He felt terrible. It took all his willpower not to break down there. Thankfully, they made it to the twoer in time, and only three teams had passed, allowing them to progress to the Third Exam without a preliminary. That day, at home, Raito cried into Joe the whole night.

For the next month, Raito trained solely on honing his senses. By the time of the exam, he was able to sense every single living being on a crowded street. He also worked on his aim and accuracy, increasing it successfully. During the Third Exam there was a plot, but not a plot to destroy Konoha, but a plot to destroy the sacred tradition of gambling. One of the villages, Kirigakure concealed one of their Chunin and entered them into the Exam. Raito overheard the plan with his sensitive hearing. He was the one that took down the Chunin. In the end, all three of them were promoted and Hizashi was proud.

Chunin Arc:

After the Chunin Exam, Team Zakuru was the talk of the Village. For the next six years, they trained and grew together, all at Jounin level by the time they were done. In the space of this time, they completed 16 C Ranked, 10 B Ranked, and 2 A Ranked Missions. It was during this time, that they had a mission to the Heat Devil Village. There was a rumor that there was an item of value there, a summon contract. Raito perked at the idea, the stories told by his father coming back to him. They found the summon scroll in a cave, guarded by a Phoenix named Faowls. Raito told his teammates he preferred to go alone to retrieve it, as it once belonged to his Grandfather. He had to pass three trials, the trial of will, the trial of faith, and the trial of fire. The trial of will tested his will to live, which was incredible. The trial of faith tested his faith in his abilities and those around him. He passed barely. The trial of fire was his loyalty, his loyalty to himself and his village. He passed this test with vigor. He proved that he could wield the summon, and so he did.

From then on, where ever Raito was, Faowls was there too. Faowls was very useful in all of their missions, as he was a perfect scout. During his time as a Chunin, Raito and Joe became more intimate, their love for each other increasing. Joe had just taken over his mentor's shop and was slowly gaining recognition as a blacksmith. He fully supported Raito, especially by giving him weapons and customizing them for him. When he was 22, his team was promoted to Jounin.

Jounin:

During this time, it was only two years until they were recognized as Sannin. It was on a scouting mission to Kumo. Their mission was simple, go in and steal the blueprints to their Shinobi Academy. However, Hizashi was absent, as he was preparing to become Hokage. It was a mission gone astray. In the end, they were cornered by a team of ANBU and the Raikage. They were able to take out the ANBU and hold their own against the Raikage. They barely escaped with their lives. At the very end, they surrendered and gave the blueprints back, but were rewarded ANBU Captain status, as they fended off a Kage successfully. Also, Hizashi became the Hokage.

After becoming a ANBU, Raito and Joe decided it was time to marry. And a wedding they had, with all their friends. The Village surprisingly supported them and only a few homophobics showed themselves. All in all, Raito's life was going splendidly. Now, at 28, he's been married for five years and has been a ANBU for six.

Rp Sample:

The air was wrought with fear, silence engulfing the area. No one moved. The ground was splattered with blood and sweat, all sets of eyes gazing at one enemy. A blow of sweet wind passed by, rustling leaves and bodies into motion. Raito was the wind. His sword was unsheathed. Not even so much as making a sound, two more of the four remaining ninja went down in a crumpled heap, their lives extinguished. One of the other shinobi got up a defense in time, and the other was quick enough to block his sword completely, but did not account for the serrated edges. The blade, always dipped in oil, ingnited in flames. "Homura Dama!" He cut the enemy with a smile as his opponent was babtised in fire.

Raito, using his heightened senses, turned around. "If you think you can win, you're mistaken."

"If you think I'll die laying down, you're even stupider than the reports said," the enemy jounin said.

"It's more stupid... idiot," replied Raito, half-heartedly. "Just promise me one thing. Don't die regretting anything." With that he became a blur, using his own spped. He appeared above the enemy, his leg extended forth, charged with chakra. He yelled, "Tsutenkyaku!" His leg was brought down on the opponent, not even registering that Raito was above him. With barely a scream, the last life was extinguished. Raito was the wind.

"Eternal Pheonix, eh?" mumbled a man to himself. "If I engage him now, I'll die. But let's see how he reacts to a summon." The man bit his hand, and after the required hand seals, he shouted, "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" After a puff of smoke, a large plain hawk stood next to him. "Engage him. See what he can do."

The hawk bowed its head low. "As you wish." The hawk took flight, screeching as it went. Raito immediately turned his head to the direction which the screech came from. He had sensed a power surge of chakra and knew it was an animal summon. He decided to not waste time and, after the required hand seals and a cut of blood, he shouted, "Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Boufuu!" A small femal pheonix came out. I take it you need this obliterated.

Raito's veiled eyes stared at Boufuu. "Yes," he replied. Bofuu nodded, not that Raito could see, and took off. She wasted no time, as she wasn't known for her patience, and screeched, "Reppuu!" Her body turned into flames and surged forward, engulfing the hawk. After a minute, the hawk burst out of existence, as he could not get the flames off him in time. Boufuu yelled, It is done! And poofed out of existence, not even waiting for Raito to respond. "Always the cheeky one," he muttered. He sped off, leaving the carnage behind. He had to report to his Hokage.

Looks good. Although the only thing I see wrong is the pet phoenix thats way to mythological. Fix that and your good.
